Hi, there welcome to Bounty. Fishing for channel cats up here is probably different than fishing for channel cats down south, however up here the best tactic for catching big cats is to find deeper holes in the river and toss down a catfish rig with a 2oz weight. When fishing on the Red River the top 3 baits are sucker cutbait, followed by goldeye cutbait with hole shrimp or prawns catching a fair share of cats too. I find the fresher the bait the better with exception to shrimp. If you can manage to find some good sized frogs they'll also catch cats. Experiment! some days they wont even sniff goldeye cutbait but will take sucker... you know what I'm saying ;) Go slay them kitties!

Heyy thanks for your comment. Regarding your question, my favorite lure for big bass is a 7inch Bass Pro Shops Squirmin Worm in the watermelon/chartreus color. All of my bigger bass have been caught on that lure....lately however I have been catching a lot of quality bass on a vibra king tube. In general, I would say big plastic worms usually work well.
