May 29,2008

Sorry for the newsletter hiatus. Been busy installing an industrial oil rig in our back yard. The dogs have been sniffing around and digging a lot out there, and we figured what the hey, maybe they’re onto something - let’s dig a little deeper. It worked out pretty well for the Clampetts (Beverly Hillbillies).

But seriously...gas prices have gotten so bad that here at BountyFishing we’ve almost started to think about the slight possibility of one day in the future having to maybe consider briefly the rising cost of fueling our boats for fishing before planning a day on the lake. Preposterous! We’ll sooner give up beer fruits and vegetables! Those are expensive too, aren’t they?

The Spring tournament season is well underway and we’ve got lots of action. Too much action if that’s possible. Between fishing season kicking into high gear and all the sports on TV lately (the Indy 500, Nascar, NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs) it’s tough to keep up appearances. Just to be sure, you may want to get off your boat or the couch for a second and check to see if the wife’s still living in the house.

A quick thanks to all of you BountyFans for using the site, playing tournaments and giving us such useful feedback. We’re excited to see that our community and tournament competition is growing by the week. Sponsors are taking note, and we should have some new challenges and prizes in place over the next few months.

Now here’s this from Boater’s World

BountyFishing.com and Boater’s World Stores have teamed up to offer you this amazing offer: With every BountyFishing tournament entry, you’ll receive a free $10 Gift Card from Boater’s World! Carp of the Year

This giant Carp was caught by Bounty member Greg Amiel’s 5 year old son.

Congratulations Noah, from all of us at BountyFishing.com. Thankfully the kid is ineligible to compete for another 14 years.

Upcoming Tournament Schedule

Stripers, Walleye, Salmon, Catfish, Bass and Red Drum - all coming up before August. Pick your pleasure. Bounty is also introducing regional tournaments in July to level the playing filed between anglers in the North and South. First regional is Largemouth Bass. Now you’ve got a better chance to win cash, and as a bonus, a brand new rod from Airrus.

We’ll be monitoring the entry figures for our inaugural regional tournament to see if we should continue down this road. Prize money may be smaller at first, but you’re twice as likely to win. As the participation grows, so will the prize money...

It’s FREE to compete in the BountyRecords Challenge
- Open Until Aug 31,2008

Here’s how it works:

Before you go fishing, retrieve a computer generated BountyCode from the BountyFishing website. The BountyCode is valid only for the week it is issued.

This BountyCode will be used to verify your catch and MUST be visible in your photo of "Fish with Ruler". [see Official BountyRecords Rules]

Email your photos to records@bountyfishing.com prior to the close of the weekly BountyRecord competition - midnight on Sunday. Check the BountyRecords page for the Bounty (prize money) available for each species.

At the end of each week, BountyFishing will validate all of the week's submissions and determine if the previous BountyRecord has been broken. If your fish establishes a new record, the Bounty for that species is yours and we will reset the amount. For any species whose record was not broken in the previous week, BountyFishing may add even more money to the available Bounty. Remember to answer all the questions in the email when submitting your catch.

Got a Comment for the Bounty Team? We’d love your feedback on our web site or any of our new initiatives. We read and respond to all emails as quickly as possible. Contact us at here
