Spring Fever

It’s April and up here in the northeast region, it still looks like February. We’ve got our boat in storage and no reason to think we’ll be in it for at least a few weeks.

The BountyFishing team is currently sitting around the office asking ourselves why the f%@# we don’t live somewhere warm and sunny where we can fish all year without a parka on. Sad faces all around...and then it hits us – the success of BountyFishing.com is more important than our silly complaints about winter. And we’ve got a job to do, dammit! And we love our jobs! And our office happens to be in a cold climate! So what?! We’ve got heat!

And even better, we’ve got spring tournament action heating up on April 12, baby! That’s right...it’s spring fever at BountyFishing.com. Catch it, and reel yourself in some prize money this season.

News time...

Bounty’s Greg Amiel breaks IGFA (International Game Fish Association) Walleye Record Great news from www.igfa.org:

Canadian angler Greg Amiel of Richmond-Hill, ON, landed a 4.99 kg (12 lb 0 oz) walleye (Sander vitreus) on Nov. 28th using a Rapala Taildancer for bait.   It took him 10 minutes to reel in the fish on 1 kg (2 lb) class line, while fishing Canada’s Bay of Quinte, Canada. The current record is 10 lb 8 oz caught in Lincoln, Neb. April 18, 1984.

Congratulations, Greg from all of us at BountyFishing.com.

Upcoming Tournaments

12 days until the start of our new tournament season! We’re kicking it off with a Crappie tournament (but not a crappy tournament)!

Here’s the upcoming schedule. And stay tuned for some great promotions we’re working on that will make competing more exciting than ever. Tournament Schedule

Latest Tournament Results

Week 24 – March 3-9 - Sea Trout

A new species, a new winner. Congratulations to Texas’ own Timothy Carlisle (a.k.a. cacciato71) for his 22.50” Speck catch. Cacciato71 beat out four Floridians for the last spot to prove that everything is in fact bigger in Texas. That $1000 check is on its way. Thanks to everyone who competed!

Week 23 – Feb 25 – Mar 2 - Yellow Perch

Mr. Greg “Anytime...Anywhere” Amiel (a.k.a. fishing4tails) hauled in a 13.59” yellow perch for his 12th bountyfishing win. Greg has taken home $17,350 in prize money and it’s OK if your head just exploded when you read that because it’s not a typo.

On a side note:

What if we told you one year ago, that you would be able to earn that kind of cash just by fishing like you normally fish, taking photos of your catches and uploading them to a web site where thousands can admire them. No tournaments to attend on specific lakes on set days, no travel, no complicated registration process, no expenses or logistics. Just fish and take a picture. Anytime, anywhere. Is that something you might have been interested in? Welcome to BountyFishing.com. And you’re welcome, from BountyFishing.com.

It’s FREE to compete in the BountyRecords Challenge
- Open Until April 13th

Less than 2 weeks to go and the bounties are swelling...

Here’s how it works:

Before you go fishing, retrieve a computer generated BountyCode from the BountyFishing website. The BountyCode is valid only for the week it is issued.

This BountyCode will be used to verify your catch and MUST be visible in your photo of "Fish with Ruler". [see Official BountyRecords Rules]

Email your photos to records@bountyfishing.com prior to the close of the weekly BountyRecord competition - midnight on Sunday. Check the BountyRecords page for the Bounty (prize money) available for each species.

At the end of each week, BountyFishing will validate all of the week's submissions and determine if the previous BountyRecord has been broken. If your fish establishes a new record, the Bounty for that species is yours and we will reset the amount. For any species whose record was not broken in the previous week, BountyFishing may add even more money to the available Bounty. Remember to answer all the questions in the email when submitting your catch.
