About Yourself
I'm a thirty something professor recently relocated to central Alabama. I just left a job teaching at the City University of New York, where the best bass fishing I could find was in Central Park! Go figure - anyway I'm currently teaching at the University of Montevallo in Alabama. I've hit a couple of the small lakes and ponds in the area catching brim, crappie, large mouth, and spotted bass. I just bought a little two man Predator bass boat. I can't get very far with just a trolling motor, but I'll now be able to hit a couple of the larger area lakes like Lay, Logan-Martin, and Jordan. I'm salivating already!
Favorite species
Bass: Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Stripers. I also love fishing for snook and snapper on light tackle as well.
Most Memorable Fish
I was 10 years old and my mom took my brother and I to a kids fishing rodeo at the local anglers club where we were living in Illinois. The rodeo was supposed to start at 10 am, but even back then you couldn't put me near water with a rod and reel and tell me I can't fish yet. It was about 5 till when I baited my hook and threw it in - not 3 seconds later I had a fish on. It took me a few but I finally landed an 8 pound channel cat. The rodeo judge came running over to me yelling and screaming to throw the fish back the rodeo hadn't started yet and I would be disqualified if I didn't. So I threw it back didn't even get a picture or nothing. Needless to say the only other thing I caught all day was a 3 inch bluegill!
Dream Fishing Trip
Any time I get to fish with my Dad and brother. Soon I'll include my son and nephew in that mix!

Welcome south ,Ultralight.I lived near Bham for most of my life and fish every one of the lakes you mentioned, alot.I have some hot ,always go to spots that produce some nice Bass.I wish I could tell you where but I cant.Just kidding or am I.Good luck.

Doubt I'll stay very long on the board. I'm still under 20" so if that holds it is a miracle. I'm going to try and upgrade tomorrow and over the weekend.
