About Yourself
I live in Cincinnati, Oh, actually northern KY, right across the mighty Ohio River from Cincinnati. I grew up in Cincinnati and have been hooked on fishing since I could walk. I'm currently married, with no children. My boxer/weimeraner mix, Sebastian, is my child. We canoe/fish together in many streams in the area. I own and run a few small companies in Cincinnati, one is a game company, the other is a creative consulting, production, and design firm. I'm just living the dream as they say. FISH ON!

Favorite species
I would have to say smallmouths are my favorite. Those bronze bombers are pound for pound the baddest fish swimming. Whether its tube baits, flys, cranks, or spinners, you just cant beat em. Pike might be my second favorite, mean as snakes. Love em. Stripers, largemouths, gills, walleye, crappie, all fall under the ,any fish that hits is a good one category.

Most Memorable Fish
My most memorable fish would be a 44inch northern pike on Rough Rock Lake in the Kenora area of Ontario. We went up for a week of Pike, Muskie, Walleye, Smallmouth, etc. The first day we arrived we had about 4 hours of fishing until dark. We slayed them for all 4 hours. I was thinking to myself, This is going to be the greatest week of fishing ever. Well, that thought hit a snag known as a huge cold front loaded with rain. The next day I think we caught 25 fish all day and the rain started. It rained for 4 days straight. Cold, driving, rain everyday for four straight days! The fifth day things werent any better we caught a handfull of fish. As my last day began I wished we wouldve booked a different week. I loaded the gear up in the boat and tried to mentally pump myself up for a day of so-so fishing. Well the morning definitely tried my patience. My Shimano casting reel lost a screw that held the baling mechanism in place. Couldnt use my pike/muskie set-up. I picked up my flipping bass rig that I brought for my back up. I was a little afraid that the 17 lb test was going to be too light. It was fine. We caught a few small pike and smallies but nothing special. The afternoon went on and with about 2 hours left until we had to be back we cruised into a small protected bay off the main channel of the lake. It looked perfect. A large flat with reed clumps everywhere. My first cast landed a 30inch+ pike! We were on the fish. We control drifted along the weed/shore line and caught numerous fish in the 30-40" range. The whole week boiled down to 2 hours of fighting huge pike. Here is where the big boy comes into the story. We were in about 4 feet of water and cruising slowly. I looked down under the boat and saw the biggest pike I've ever seen. 50"+ easily! I about fell off the deck! The big boys were definitely in here. I cast to a clump of reeds, started to reel in the spoon, WHAM! I had a monster on and it was screeeming line out. After about 10 minutes of fighting, a 5 lb ball of weeds came out of the water attached to my leader, then I saw the head, holy sh*t! I got her up to the boat and grabbed her under the jaw, hoisted her up and my buddy couldnt believe it. The picture of me and the fish is on my profile. Enjoy.

Dream Fishing Trip
I would love to go on a Peacock Bass trip on the Amazon. Seeing those brutes hit a spook on top is my dream.

Best excuse you ever told someone to go fishing
Probably told an old boss that I had to pick a fried up from the Columbus, Oh airport. ITs about a 2 hour drive so it basically blew the whole day of work. I put a little breathing room on when I called the boss and told him that the flight was delayed and that I probably wouldnt be in at all today. I called him from my cell when I was chest deep in a cool smallmouth stream in Indiana. Gotta love it!
