RainbowAddict (CA)

I live for fishing of all species, but nothing beats a Rainbow Trout on a fly rod. I prefer lakes over rivers and streams, due to the fact that I also like getting out in the boat with the down riggers once in a while if the water is deep enough.

  • About Yourself
Was raised on trout fishing. Mostly on Duck Lake, Montana. That lake is filled with large Rainbows and the odd huge Brown. Be it fly fishing, trolling, or just sitting on the shore with a pickerel rig in, Duck Lake is my favorite spot. Even through the ice, Duck produces some big fish. A few years ago I met a wonderful girl, and we'll be married July '08. Her father is also an avid fisherman, and he has introduced me to some quality spots in Southern Alberta. A couple of them are Bullshead(near Medicine Hat) and Dipping Vat(west of Lethbridge). Large Rainbows in both waters. Nothing beats the Duck for me though. Lots of memories with my brother, father, and late grandfather. That lake will always have a special place in my heart.
  • Favorite species
    Rainbow Trout
  • Most Memorable Fish
The first fish that wins me money on this site!
  • Dream Fishing Trip
I would love to do a Queen Charlotte Islands trip in the future with my Dad & Bro.
  • Best excuse you ever told someone to go fishing
My dog had a veterinary appointment. I made it sound like it was life and death. I'm sure I'll have some pics of my lab on here in the future.

Hey Rainbow, way to go last weekend. That's what I would call a "boat load of fish" Thanks for the compliment on my website, it is my pride and joy that's for sure. Dipping Vat is somewhere I can honestly say I have never heard of this lake, sounds like it's a great place to fish. As for your friend Matt, I can't say I know him but probably rubbed shoulders somewhere along the banks of the Bow River, it's practically where I live. Thanks for stopping by and please share your Duck Lake pic's with me when you slam the big bruiser Rainbow. Be well and fish safely, ~Mike.

Hi Rainbow addict, your Bounty code is only valid when that perticular species is available for the week. You cannot catch your fish and then wait untill that species comes available. You get your code for the week your species is available. See the HOW TO COMPETE section of this website and you will get a better understanding of the rules. I fish the Lower Bow River from 22X all the way through to the Carseland Weir. I have never really made it down to Lethbridge or the HAT. Hopefully soon I can go south and slam some trouties in your back yard. Thanks for the question and hopefully you catch the big one and win some dollers. you have a great chance when you fish Duck Lake, Motanna. ~Mike @bowriverblog.com
