Favorite species
It's a tie between redfish and snook. I love snook for their raw power, jumps, and some of the finest eating in the salt. The old redfish is a bulldog with a never say die attitude, and is damn good baked with some blackened cream sauce. If I really had to choose I would have to pick the redfish, they are a little more consistent & easier to catch. Them big ole mama snook can be stubborn when they want to.

Most Memorable Fish
My big 40" snook this year! She was 40" length, 23" girth, & 18 1/2 lbs. I caught her on 20lb Suffix braid with 20lb flurocarbon leader. I was fishing some oyster covered mangroves when she hit. Between her long power house runs and the mangroves she really tested my angling skills on light tackle. It also showed me how much pressure you can put on 20lb leader at the right time in the fight. Great memory and an awesome learning experience!

Best excuse you ever told someone to go fishing
There are no excuses ever needed to go fishing! Just the call of the salt, decent weather, & the fish willing.
