I'm 72, married 53 years, 2 sons and 4 grandkids. For many years we lived in Houston and fished out of Chocolate Bayou and West bay of Galveston. Nine years ago we moved to Montgomery Texas on Lake Conroe and I became a freshwater fisherman.
About Yourself
I am now a fresh water fisherman now but for many years I only fished saltwater. It has been a real change. I live on a lake (Conroe in Texas) that is abundant in many species. I no longer have a boat so all of fishing is done from the bank. I'm 72, retired and in fairly good health so I get to enjoy fishing a lot.
Favorite species
Catfish, crappie, bluegill - basically anything that I can eat!
Most Memorable Fish
I caught a 30 lb grass carp(not supposed to be carniverous). I was fishing with medium weight rig and 10 lb line. I had no net and didn't know what kind of fish I had so I pulled it up on the boat ramp. When I realized what it was I weighed and released it. Many years (15-20) ago Lake Conroe was horribly infested with hydrilla. Fishing was great but Conroe was more of a recreation lake and they placed thousands of grass carp in the lake and virtually destroyed all vegitation and the fishing with it. THe lake has recovered dramatically but obviously there were some grass carp still around.

Best excuse you ever told someone to go fishing
I never had to make an excuse! I fished with my wife!
