Most Memorable Fish
50" Bull Red Drum off of the beach in Melbourne at 3:00AM. We were fishing for tarpon and were catching a lot of nurse sharks that night. We heard the clicking of the Penn reel and when I got to the pole it seemed like there was nothing there. So I thought I would bring it up to check my bait and all of the sudden the line started ripping out... he must have been running at me. After about 30 minutes I landed a fish that was so big I didn't even recognize it at first.

Ma I 've been out of bed for weeks and catching big fish... this week has started out a little slow though... I have put 10+ pounds of filets in the freezer (remember I'm still unempolyed and need the food) this week alone. I just haven't found the big one... Lost a first place fish Tuesday AM that pissed me off

I thought I had 2nd also, but it was the tale of the tape that made the final decision. I posted a picture of the trout (fish with ruler) picture, in an album titled tournament dissappoints, the $200 mistake is also in there, take a look at the trout measuing job, maybe you can give me some hints or pointers. Nice trout! WTG on the 2nd place, yeah I'm kinda disgusted about the redfish, in the fish with angler picture I held the fish vertically. The worst part is the red was 25". But hey rules are rules and I won't make that mistake again.

Cortez, Is your trout strong enough to hold...? We are hitting the redfish hard this weekend, so we are really determined to take 2 of the top 3 spots. We're gonna go for trout too, but redfish is our specialty. Good luck.

Nice start on the Speck;Hopefully this week Ill head to West Galveston Bay to try my luck.The crappie and bass have been slow this week on Conroe....I like thrownig corkys and catch 5s for gators and reds.My personal best 271/4.caught2-02on a Super Spook @San Luis Pass,Galveston while wading.And again great job1

Thanks for the warm welcome! Florida isn't very far... I will be coming at least once this year! We'll see what summer brings. I keep tellin Ma she needs to get her pole down here, but she wants get up north. Help me get her down here... she needs some persuading. :)

I was signed up for the tourament, but my buddy wanted to go snapper fishing.We came in with 7 pounds of fillets. Can't complain. I will be back ,on board, at the end of the month for the big trout tourament. I'm sure your looking forward to the competition. Congrats on your win.

Yeah, we missed last week's trout. We took a vacation through last weekend, and then worked our tails off to catch up last week at work. We'll be giving it a little effort this weekend for sure. Hopefully those big reds will cooperate this week - they sure do like to make the heart skip a beat.
