BountyRecords - Challenge

BountyRecords Official Rules

1) GENERAL

To be eligible for prizes you must register as a BountyFishing member prior to participating in the "BountyRecords Challenge". Fish must be caught by the individual listed as the "Registered Angler". The registered BountyFishing angler is responsible for completing the official BountyFishing affidavit when emailing the contest photos. All materials submitted, unless noted otherwise, become the property of BountyFishing.

A Win shall be defined as when a registered angler submits a fish longer than the length of a previously set BountyRecord. Only one winner is possible per species, per week. Should multiple submissions surpass the previously established record, only the longest fish is eligible for a prize. If there are no new BountyRecord submissions that surpass a previously established record, then no winner will be declared for that week.

Winners will be judged according to length submitted and validated by BountyFishing. The new BountyRecord will be announced within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) of the conclusion of the weekly contest. Cash prizes will be awarded within 30 days thereafter.

Each winning entry is validated by BountyFishing and all decisions are final. Participants may be required to provide additional information if requested by BountyFishing (including, but not limited to, additional images from the same camera that was used for your contest photos). BountyFishing reserves the right to reject or accept any entry. Any falsification of information provided by the registered angler will lead to disqualification. Failure to comply with these rules will result in forfeiture of prizes. Additionally, you may be subject to prosecution under local state/provincial and federal laws.

2) PARTICIPANTS AND ELIGIBILITY

Participation is open to BountyFishing members with the following exceptions: Residents of Vermont, Maryland, North Dakota, South Dakota, Delaware, Colorado, Tennessee, Quebec and Mexico and those under 18 years of age are not eligible to compete but are welcome to join BountyFishing.com and participate in the online community.

Due to Washington state regulations, BountyFishing will not accept Tiger Muskellunge (Esox masquinongy x Esox lucius) or any Trout species from Washington State.

Entrants must provide proof of age and residency. BountyFishing reserves the right to reject any entry which they feel is not in the best interest of the contest. Final eligibility will be determined only by BountyFishing. Persons employed by BountyFishing and its affiliated companies are not eligible for prizes.

3) BOUNTYCODE

The BountyCode is a unique, seven digit alpha-numeric code which is randomly generated at the start of each week Monday morning at 12:00 a.m. EST.

The BountyCode must be clearly visible in your photo of the "Fish with Ruler" as it will be used to validate the date of your catch.

4) SPECIES

See the "species with current Bounties on the BountyRecords Challenge Page"

Hybrids will be counted as the larger of the parental species. Entries in which the species are incorrectly identified may be subject to disqualification.

5) FISH

  • All Fish must be caught alive using legal angling methods.
  • Anglers must abide by all state/provincial rules and regulations.
  • Absolutely no fish caught in fish hatchery waters, fish culture stations, "Fish & Pay" Lakes, private pond or fishing preserves may be submitted. Furthermore, no fish captured using unconventional methods and/or during spawning is eligible.

6) MEASURING DEVICE

Only a valid ruler, tape measure or measuring board will be accepted by BountyFishing for measuring the length of the fish. This device must be displayed clearly in your photo of the "Fish with Ruler". BountyFishing, at its sole discretion, will disqualify anyone suspected of using an inaccurate measuring device. Winners may be asked to submit the measuring device used in the challenge for verification.
